Defender Samuel Umtiti and midfielder Paul Pogba spoke Thursday (12th July) about the World Cup final against Croatia on Sunday (15th July).
France won 4-3 against Argentina in the round of sixteen, 2-0 over Uruguay in the quarter-final and then 1-0 against Belgium in semi-final to reach this stage.
This will be France’s third World Cup final in the last twenty years, winning in 1998 but losing in 2006.
France beat Brazil 3-0 in the 1998 World Cup, which was captained by Didier Deschamps, who is the current head coach of France.
Deschamps’ team will be looking to make amends for the Euro 2016 final, where they lost 1-0 to Portugal.
This will be the first World Cup final in Croatia’s history.
Their best finish was in the 1998 World Cup, reaching the semi-final but lost 2-1 to France.
Croatia are the first team in history to have played three extra-time periods in a row to reach a World Cup final.
